JOURNEY
The Good Wave Foundation was registered as a not-for-profit under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013, in September 2022.
In December 2022, we received our Section 12A certification under Indian tax laws, ensuring accountability and trust.
January 7, 2023 - Launch!
We hosted our very first volunteer-led fundraiser at 91springboard in BKC, Mumbai
April to June, 2023 – Onboarded Counsellors
As part of our commitment to mental well-being, we hosted a “Mental Health Awareness” workshop led by a qualified psychologist for the ‘Spirited Shalinis’ of Udayan Care. The 2-hour session equipped participants with essential strategies to manage exam stress and introduced them to mindful breathing practices.
July to September, 2023 – Launch of Multiple Cohorts
With this certification, all donations became eligible for tax exemptions, thus encouraging more support towards our mission of accessible mental healthcare.
July 3 and 4, 2024 – Fundraiser Event
A proud milestone in our journey as The Good Wave Foundation won ‘Do Good Awards’ (2nd edition) in the Mental Health category for our campaign on ‘Misguided Minds’.
June 15, 2025 – Safe Circle
Incorporation & Certification
The Good Wave Foundation was officially launched, with a mission to improve quality
of life for individuals at work through free mental health counselling.
March 2023 – First Fundraiser
We initiated our counsellor recruitment drive through a rigorous selection process, showcasing our steadfast commitment to providing expert mental health care.
July 2023 – Udayan Care Workshop
Cohort 1: We introduced Cohort 1 in July, offering free therapy to individuals aged 18 and above across India. By August 31, over 50 participants had accessed multiple free therapy sessions.
Entrepreneur Cohort: We wanted to create a safe space for founders, business owners, and entrepreneurs who wanted to navigate personal and professional challenges. We launched the Entrepreneur Cohort in September to provide free therapy sessions tailored to their needs.
February 15, 2024 – 80G Certificate
We hosted a two-day fundraiser at Awfis R-City Offices, Ghatkopar, to raise awareness and support our cause of free mental health care
for all, with treats, games, and workshops.
May 13, 2025 – Do Good Award
We introduced our first ‘Safe Circle’, which is a 90-minute guided group session to share, listen and heal together with trained therapists where we embraced community healing while contributing to our cause of accessible mental healthcare for all.
