TAKE A DEEP BREATH

  • What should I expect from a counselling session?
We’re all in search of a safe space to express ourselves. A therapy or counselling session works pretty much like having a regular conversation with somebody, except that our counselling therapists are trained to listen and offer professional mental health support. Feel free to talk to them about anything you would like. Everything remains anonymous.
  • Will the information I share remain confidential?
Confidentiality lies at the heart of therapy, and this is non-negotiable. All sessions are 100% confidential. Without your prior consent or knowledge, no person will be informed that you are seeking therapy.
  • Are there any exceptions to confidentiality?
Since the Good Wave Foundation is not a mental health crisis service and does not offer crisis support, the only circumstance where confidentiality will be broken is if there is a serious risk to yours or another person’s life.
  • Will online therapy really be helpful?
Online therapy may be a new way of providing mental health care but that doesn’t stop it from being just as effective as traditional therapy. It is convenient, can be fitted into your schedule, and you can attend it from the comfort of your home. Therapy is a two-way process. Your therapist will be able to help you best if you are honest with them and let them help you. Book a session and give it a shot 🙂
  • How does online counselling work?
Once you book a session, you will receive a confirmation email with the date, time, link for session and cancellation/rescheduling details. Once you’re all set, simply click on the link and begin your session.
  • Why do I need to commit to more than one session?
Counselling is a process and by committing to a minimum of three sessions as part of this cohort, you are allowing yourself the space to heal at your own pace. Progress takes time and healing is a journey. All we ask is you trust the process.
  • Do I get to choose a therapist all by myself?
Absolutely! Our therapists come with varying levels of experience and expertise. Feel free to get to know them a bit better and find one that aligns with your interests.
  • How long will one therapy session last for?
Each session is scheduled for 60 mins so that our therapists can provide you with top-notch support. If you require more time, please book another session at your convenience.
  • What do I do if the session is cancelled?
We will try our best to never cancel your session, unless absolutely necessary. If, due to an emergency, your counsellor needs to cancel a pre-planned session, you will be notified via email and you can reschedule your session for another time.
  • Can I contact my therapist at any point?
Since our therapists are available during their scheduled work hours, please book a session during those time slots only.
  • What if I need to cancel a session?
Counselling slots are reserved in advance and are held exclusively for you. Please reschedule or cancel your session up to 24 hours before the scheduled time via the links provided in the confirmation email.
